Job Summary:
Join a mission-driven team working to expand access to home care services for those who served our country.
At Help at Home, we believe those who served our country deserve the highest standard of care—and a trusted partner to help them navigate it. That’s why we’re expanding our team of Market Development Representatives to drive a high-impact initiative focused on connecting Veterans and their families to home care services that are essential to helping them remain independent in the community.
In this field-based role, you’ll serve as a community ambassador and advocate—building relationships with VA medical centers, clinics, social workers, and referral partners to ensure Veterans can access the support they’ve earned. This isn’t just business development—it’s mission-driven work that creates real, measurable impact in the lives of those who need it most.
You’ll be accountable for building strong, ongoing relationships that generate qualified client referrals, while collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery. This position offers a high level of autonomy and is ideal for a proactive, relationship-driven professional who understands the healthcare landscape and has a passion for improving access to quality home care services —especially those tied to VA medical centers, local clinics, or social work systems.
Candidates should be located within reasonable driving distance to Chicagoland. While the position offers remote or work-from-home flexibility, it requires regular travel throughout the market on a weekly basis.
What You'll Do:
- Build relationships with key referral sources—including nursing case managers who establish plans of care and most directly influence a family’s choice of homecare provider, social workers, and healthcare professionals—to drive growth across your territory.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including in adjacent markets, with a focus on home care needs specific to veterans and their families.
- Represent Help at Home at community events, VA and other veteran focused programs, and referral partner meetings to increase visibility and referrals.
- Educate partners about the benefits of home care services and the unique ways we support the veteran population.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience for clients and referral partners.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of business development, community outreach, or referral-based sales experience—home health or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with referral networks tied to VA hospitals, medical centers, case managers, or veteran-serving clinics/social services is highly valuable.
- A self-starter who thrives on connections, has a strong sense of purpose, and brings creativity to building relationships in untapped spaces.
- Exceptional communication, empathy, and critical thinking skills.
- Willingness to travel within your assigned region.
Why Join Us?:
- Be part of a fast-growing initiative to bring quality care to underserved veteran communities.
- Work autonomously with the support of a collaborative, mission-driven team.
- Make a meaningful impact on the lives of veterans and their families.
Travel Requirements:
- Role must be within the market (Illinois) they are supporting but can be remote within that geography.
- Regular travel on a weekly basis required, even in inclement weather
Salary Requirements:
$65,000 - $75,000 plus quarterly incentive bonus
Benefits:
- Direct deposit
- Healthcare, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and parental leave
- 401k
- Ongoing, in-depth training opportunities
- Meaningful work with clients who need your help
- Career growth and experience with an industry leader with 40+years of history in a high-demand field
